Freedom Crossing: The Undergound Railroad in Greater Niagara

Visit the Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University to see its new interpretive center, "Freedom Crossing: The Underground Railroad in Greater Niagara." This permanent exhibition highlights to history and legacy of the thousands of people who escaped from slavery across the Niagara River to freedom in Canada, and the local citizens who assisted them. The exhibition features artwork, historic photographs, video, audio stations and more. Brochures and maps will lead visitors to the many underground railroad sites throughout the region. Museum hours: Mon.-Sat. 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Sundays 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
